Blog - SpentSTRIKE ONE, STRIKE TWO, AND THREE AS WE move further down the “to do” list. Our fine-point permanent marker is worn. The only visible notation of the once named Sharpie is the faded letters pie appearing on the marker’s exterior. Whereas the ink, in times past, had been defining and boldly black, it now dispenses as a stubborn, charcoal-gray color with grave uncertainty. It takes multiple overlapping marks to make one effective strike. It’s frustrating, but we are determined to show that we have completed the list. And that means striking a heavy line through every task to prove its fulfillment. Continue reading

The Synchronized Seed

blog-plant-growing1We are known by what we produce! Jesus made this crystal clear when He emphatically declared, “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Therefore by their fruits you will know them” (Matt. 7:18,20). In similar manner, James made mention of how impossible it is to produce a substance from which we have no origin. Rhetorically, he asked, “Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?”  (James 3:12). Of course, the answer is irrefutably no! The seed is never disconnected from the fruit it bears, and the fruit will always be in partnership with the seed it carries. Continue reading
