Sacred Solitude

Blog - SolitudeSolitude can be an unrelenting place of loneliness for a great number of people. For some, it has no purpose; for others, purpose may not be discovered without it.

Its enormous value is often grossly underrated and sadly unappreciated. Its hidden worth is often overshadowed by society’s subtle assumption that solitude must surely be accompanied by loneliness and abandonment. On the contrary, solitude can be rewarding–even refreshing.

The Synchronized Seed

blog-plant-growing1We are known by what we produce! Jesus made this crystal clear when He emphatically declared, “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Therefore by their fruits you will know them” (Matt. 7:18,20). In similar manner, James made mention of how impossible it is to produce a substance from which we have no origin. Rhetorically, he asked, “Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?”  (James 3:12). Of course, the answer is irrefutably no! The seed is never disconnected from the fruit it bears, and the fruit will always be in partnership with the seed it carries. Continue reading

In Hard Spaces

blog-rocks2Can I just say….the calling God has placed on your life may lead you down a path full of hard spaces? One may think, Because its His calling, it should be easily penetrable; I shall sail along the perfect course with very little inconvenience and resistance. Most times, this does not even closely resemble the truth of reality.

On the contrary, your calling may take you down a path filled to capacity with rocks, and even the ground underneath the rocks may itself be hard and unrelenting. Difficult for some to grasp mentally, but there, in those hard spaces, you may be precisely in the center of God’s will for your life.
